We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to support students in a school-based setting in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Working under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), you will help students build essential communication, language, and literacy skills that contribute to their academic success and personal growth.

Compensation

$45-$50 per hour, based on experience and qualifications

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Implement speech and language therapy plans developed by the supervising SLP.

Provide direct therapy services to students in individual and small-group settings.

Assist with speech and language screenings, assessments, and data collection.

Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including session notes, attendance records, and progress monitoring data.

Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to support student progress and skill generalization.

Support students with expressive and receptive language needs, articulation goals, pragmatic language development, and phonemic awareness skills.

Assist in identifying students who may benefit from speech and language interventions.

Participate in IEP meetings, MTSS discussions, intervention planning meetings, and other collaborative team meetings as appropriate.

Adhere to all professional, ethical, and confidentiality standards.

 

Qualifications

 

Completion of an accredited Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) program.

Current SLPA licensure or certification in accordance with Colorado state requirements.

Previous experience working with children in educational or clinical settings preferred.

Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.

 

Preferred Skills & Attributes

 

Familiarity with literacy interventions and phonemic awareness strategies.

Experience with progress monitoring tools and data collection systems.

Knowledge of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS).

Ability to establish positive relationships with students, families, and school staff.

Flexible, proactive, and student-centered approach to service delivery.
