Job Description
Are you an experienced Drafter/Designer who enjoys turning complex engineering concepts into real-world infrastructure solutions? Join a collaborative engineering team supporting critical gas utility projects throughout the Northeast. In this role, you'll work alongside engineers and fellow designers to develop high-quality, compliant designs that help deliver safe, reliable energy to communities.

What You'll DoAs a Drafter/Designer, you'll play a key role in the planning, design, and documentation of gas utility and infrastructure projects. Your responsibilities will include:
- Creating and revising detailed engineering drawings using AutoCAD and related design tools
- Interpreting engineering drawings, standards, and specifications to develop effective design solutions
- Supporting engineers and project teams throughout all phases of project development
- Preparing project documentation, including permits, easements, and regulatory submissions
- Ensuring all designs comply with company standards and applicable state and federal regulations
- Maintaining accurate project records within computerized documentation systems
- Managing multiple projects and priorities while meeting deadlines and quality expectations
- Monitoring project reports and resolving outstanding items in a timely manner
- Collaborating with engineers, designers, project teams, and clients to ensure successful project delivery
- Promoting a culture of safety by incorporating safety considerations into all design activities
- Completing required training, timesheets, and project-related administrative tasks accurately and on time
- Minimum 1 year of AutoCAD drafting and design experience
- Minimum 1 year of experience supporting horizontal infrastructure projects, such as:
- Gas or utility systems
- Pipelines
- Telecommunications
- Construction projects
- Related infrastructure environments
- Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical standards
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other business software applications
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
- Ability to work occasional overtime and travel locally as project needs require
- Associate's degree or higher in CAD Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field
- Experience supporting gas utility or pipeline projects
- Knowledge of permitting, easement preparation, and regulatory documentation
- Familiarity with project management principles and workflow coordination
- Consulting experience supporting multiple utility clients
- Positive attitude, strong initiative, and eagerness to grow professionally

This position is based in downtown Pittsburgh, PA, and follows a hybrid work model, with an expectation of being in the office approximately 1–2 days per week. The remainder of the time can be worked remotely. You'll work closely with a multidisciplinary engineering and design team on a variety of gas utility and infrastructure projects while utilizing industry-leading tools including AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
Occasional overtime and local travel may be required to support project milestones and client needs.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.00 - $36.00/hr.
