This first-shift role focuses on assembling products using a variety of machinery and hand tools, as well as supporting packing, shipping, receiving, and inventory activities. The position requires consistent physical activity, attention to safety procedures, and strong reliability to help maintain an efficient and organized production environment.

Responsibilities

• Assemble products using machinery such as cutting machines, drill presses, soldering machines, and various manual and automatic presses.
• Use hand tools and equipment safely and effectively to support assembly and production tasks.
• Pack finished products accurately and securely for shipment.
• Support shipping and receiving activities, including loading, unloading, and verifying materials.
• Stock products and materials in designated areas to maintain proper inventory levels.
• Lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Stand, stretch, bend, and perform repetitive motions throughout an 8-hour shift.
• Use company-designated personal protective equipment, including steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, ear protection, and protective gloves as required.
• Perform routine daily housekeeping duties in the assembly area to keep the workspace neat, clean, and organized.
• Assist with physical inventory counts as needed to ensure accurate records.
• Maintain strong, reliable attendance to support production schedules and team performance.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 1 year of manufacturing experience.
• Experience using hand tools in a production or assembly environment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Ability to stand, stretch, and bend for the duration of an 8-hour shift.
• Comfort working with machinery such as cutting machines, drill presses, soldering machines, and manual or automatic presses.
• Commitment to following safety procedures and using required personal protective equipment.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with packing, shipping, receiving, and stocking products.
• Ability to perform basic material handling and inventory support tasks.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to keep work areas organized.
• Willingness to perform routine housekeeping duties in the assembly area.

Work Environment

This is a first-shift position with working hours from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM in a manufacturing and assembly environment. The role involves regular lifting of materials up to 50 pounds and standing, stretching, and bending throughout an 8-hour workday. You will work around machinery such as cutting machines, drill presses, soldering machines, and manual and automatic presses, and you will use hand tools frequently. Personal protective equipment, including steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, ear protection, and protective gloves, is required as designated to ensure a safe workplace. The assembly area is maintained through daily housekeeping to keep the workspace neat, clean, and organized.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Norton Shores, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $18.50/hr.
