Job Description
The Maintenance Mechanic travels to customer sites throughout the Dayton area to troubleshoot, repair, and install industrial equipment and systems. This role focuses on performing preventative maintenance, mechanical and electrical repairs, and new installations of racking, dock doors, and conveyors for large industrial and commercial facilities. The position requires hands-on work with mechanical drive systems, low-voltage wiring, and fabrication tasks to keep customer operations running safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities- Travel to customer sites within the Dayton area to perform equipment repairs, preventative maintenance, and installations.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain racking, dock doors, and conveyor systems for industrial and commercial customers.
- Perform mechanical installation and repair of chains, bearings, motors, drive systems, sprockets, and gears.
- Conduct low-voltage wiring tasks and troubleshoot control panels up to 220 volts.
- Carry out electrical troubleshooting and repair work on equipment and related systems.
- Perform welding and fabrication work as needed to support equipment repair and installation.
- Diagnose issues with hydraulics and pneumatics and complete mechanical repairs to restore proper operation.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical panels and other components, including systems up to 480 volts.
- Collaborate with maintenance personnel and plant leadership at customer sites to coordinate work and ensure minimal disruption to operations.
- Follow safety procedures and best practices while working in diverse industrial environments.
- At least 2 years of mechanical experience troubleshooting and repairing hydraulics and pneumatics.
- At least 2 years of experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical panels and other 220-volt components.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience working with 480-volt electrical systems.
- A minimum of 1 year of welding or fabrication experience.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in equipment maintenance and repair.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair drive systems, chains, bearings, motors, sprockets, and gears.
- Proficiency in low-voltage wiring and control panel troubleshooting up to 220 volts.
- Experience performing electrical troubleshooting and repair in industrial environments.
- Ability to perform welding and fabrication tasks safely and accurately.
- Solid problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently at customer sites.
- Experience working with large industrial and commercial facilities.
- Comfort working with conveyor systems, dock doors, and racking installations.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, diagrams, and equipment manuals.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with maintenance teams and plant management.
- Adaptability to different customer environments and varying site requirements.
- Commitment to safe work practices in mechanical, electrical, and welding tasks.
