We are a well established and growing law firm ranked in the top 125 and seeking a talented Civil Litigation Attorney to join our team in Orange County. This opportunity is ideal for an attorney who enjoys managing a diverse litigation practice, working directly with clients, and handling matters from inception through resolution. Position Overview
The Civil Litigation Attorney will be responsible for handling a broad range of litigation matters, including business disputes, contract claims, real estate litigation, professional liability, and general civil defense matters. The successful candidate will possess strong analytical skills, excellent advocacy abilities, and the confidence to manage cases independently.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle civil litigation matters through all phases of the litigation process.
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, responses, and legal memoranda.
- Conduct and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts.
- Appear at hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and court proceedings.
- Develop case strategy and assess liability, damages, and settlement opportunities.
- Manage discovery, including document review and written discovery.
- Prepare cases for trial and assist with trial proceedings as needed.
- Maintain regular communication with clients and provide timely case updates.
- Collaborate with partners and fellow attorneys to achieve successful outcomes.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Active membership in the California State Bar.
- 3+ years of civil litigation experience.
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Experience handling depositions, motion practice, and court appearances.
- Trial experience or substantial trial preparation experience is a plus.
- Ability to independently manage a caseload while working collaboratively within a team environment.
- Exceptional communication and client service skills.
