Assembler / Shipper

Job Title: Assembler / Shipper (Large Building Curbs) - 2nd Shift

Location: Lombard, IL

Type: Temp to Hire

Salary range: $18.50

Shift: Monday - Friday / 2nd Shift 4:00pm to 12:30pm

Requirements: Resume / Interview / Drug Test / Authorized to work in the U.S.

Critical Job Functions

• Using steel, lumber and insulation, perform final assembly of products.
• Lift 40 pounds on a regular basis.
• Cut lumber and insulation to size for final assembly.
• Build custom pallets for shipping.
• Assist fabricators with layout and fabrication of jobs.
• Cut and assemble skids for shipping of assembled products.
• Responsible for reporting concerns, issues, and material shortages, in a timely fashion.
• Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
• Follow safety procedures at all times.
• Follow the job schedule provided by the Plant Manager and Shift Foreman

Other Job Duties

• Assist fabricators in the correct set-up and operation of equipment.
• Load/unload shipments quickly and safely.
• Safely operate powered pallet jacks (training and certification provided).
• Maintain a neat and orderly assembly area.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Foreman.

Skills Required

• Must be able to safely use hand tools and power tools (Nail Gun, Cordless Drill, Saw).
• Knowledge/ability to do basic shop math.
• Some relevant experience in the metal fabricating industry.
• Knowledge of safety and operation issues related to the metal fabricating industry.
• Ability to think and work independently
• Must be able to safely use table and band saws.
• Previous experience operating a Shear Press is a plus.
• High School diploma or equivalent (preferred).
