SUMMARY
We are seeking a Structural Welder for our client in the Shipyard / Repair industry.
Join our team of skilled professionals at a leading defense and military contractor! We are seeking a talented Structural Welder to be a part of our specialized shipyard and repair operations.
In this role, you will be responsible for the fabrication, assembly, and repair of critical structural components for a variety of naval and maritime projects. Using your expertise in welding techniques, you will play a vital role in ensuring the structural integrity and safety of our vessels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications to accurately fabricate and assemble structural components
- Perform a variety of welding processes, including MIG, TIG, and stick welding, to join metal parts and assemblies
- Inspect completed welds to ensure they meet quality standards and industry regulations
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other tradespeople to coordinate workflow and resolve issues
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment, following all safety protocols and procedures
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of experience as a structural welder, preferably in a shipyard or heavy industrial setting
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints
- Certification in structural welding, such as AWS D1.1 or ASME Section IX
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
