Assistant Controller

We are looking for an Assistant Controller to support core accounting and reporting activities in Getzville, New York. This role focuses on maintaining accurate financial records, coordinating inventory and payment-related transactions, and contributing to reliable month-end reporting. The position also plays an important part in foreign exchange oversight, sales tax filings, and financial analysis across key accounting areas.

Responsibilities:
• Oversee foreign currency account activity, track open forward contract positions, and coordinate hedge transactions in accordance with approval requirements.
• Record daily inventory receipts, reconcile them against related payments, and maintain accurate shipping date information tied to each transaction.
• Enter tolling and conversion results for inventory movements and provide support during month-end inventory liquidation activities.
• Review and authorize accounts payable vouchers for wire transfers and scheduled check runs while confirming alignment between payments and purchase agreements.
• Provide backup support for cash application activities and foreign exchange wire processing as needed.
• Examine accounts receivable details to identify discrepancies, resolve issues, and support collection accuracy when analysis is required.
• Prepare and submit Canadian and applicable state sales tax filings in a timely and accurate manner.
• Assist with accounting close activities, reporting deliverables, and ongoing review of general ledger balances to ensure financial accuracy.• 5+ years of experience in accounting, controllership support, or financial reporting roles.
• Strong knowledge of month-end close processes and general ledger accounting.
• Experience supporting financial statement audits and preparing reporting schedules.
• Background in financial reporting with the ability to maintain accurate and timely records.
• Hands-on experience with inventory analysis, including inventory receipts, reconciliations, and related transactions.
• Familiarity with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash posting activities.
• Understanding of foreign currency transactions, hedging support, or related treasury accounting activities.
