FLUX CORE WELDER | 1st Shift | $21 - $28/hr
Job Description
This role involves performing structural steel fitting and welding duties in a steel fabrication environment. You will work with a variety of welding processes, read and interpret blueprints, and ensure precise measurements while fabricating and fitting structural steel and pipe components.
Responsibilities
- Perform structural steel fitting for a variety of fabrication projects, ensuring components align and fit according to specifications.
- Complete flux core welding on structural and pipe assemblies, following established welding procedures and quality standards.
- Use a tape measure accurately to the 1/16th of an inch to lay out, mark, and verify dimensions on steel and pipe materials.
- Carry, position, and handle materials and components weighing up to 50 lbs safely throughout the workday.
- Perform tack welding to hold components in place prior to final welding and assembly.
- Carry out pipe fitting tasks, including cutting, fitting, and aligning pipe sections for welding and installation.
- Read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings to determine measurements, layouts, and welding requirements.
- Use MIG, TIG, and pulse MIG welding processes as required for different materials such as carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and structural steel.
- Operate hand tools and grinding equipment to prepare, finish, and clean welds and fabricated components.
- Work efficiently in a production environment, meeting project deadlines while maintaining high quality and safety standards.
- Collaborate with team members in construction and mechanical fabrication activities to complete projects accurately and on time.
