Material Handler I

Job Summary The Material Handler is responsible for loading, unloading, and conveying materials within or near the plant, yard, or work site. This role supports shipping and receiving operations, inspects and records materials, and assists machine operators by lifting and moving heavy objects. The handler ensures accurate documentation, safe equipment operation, and efficient material flow to support production needs. Key Responsibilities Load and unload materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, conveyors, and trucks by hand or equipment Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, hand trucks, electric dollies, wheelbarrows, and elevators Open containers using hand tools, count, weigh, and sample materials Use computer systems for tracking, logging, verifying, and recording material information Stack and assemble materials to support production processes Assist machine operators by lifting heavy objects manually or with power hoists Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure safety and efficiency Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED Prior warehouse experience Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and as part of a tea m Education: High School
