Regal Staffing is currently hiring for a Designer Draftsman II to join the Engineering team. This role is ideal for an experienced drafting professional with strong AutoCAD expertise who can work with minimal supervision to produce accurate, detailed technical drawings.
Position Summary:
With minimal supervision, the Designer Draftsman II will use AutoCAD to produce complete and detailed drawings based on sketches, marked-up prints, and written instructions.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Use AutoCAD to produce final drawings from marked-up drawings, sketches, or written instructions
- Create detailed drawings for product lines and engineering projects
- Utilize inspection tools and measurements of actual parts to ensure drawing accuracy
- Manage drawings through an electronic document control system (check-in/check-out process)
Additional Responsibilities:
- Maintain proficiency in drafting tools, techniques, and standards
- Apply geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) principles
- Gain familiarity with other drafting software such as Inventor and SolidWorks
- Provide guidance and support to junior drafting staff (CAD Operator I)
- Review and check drawings for accuracy and quality
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and team members
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Associate’s Degree or Drafting Certificate with 2–4 years of experience
OR 4+ years of related experience without a degree
OR 5+ years of related experience without a certificate - Strong, hands-on experience with AutoCAD
- Basic math and measurement skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting
- Occasional bending and movement as needed
