Position Summary

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and installing manufacturing equipment and facility systems to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations. This position performs both mechanical and electrical maintenance, preventive maintenance, and equipment repairs while supporting continuous improvement initiatives that minimize downtime and maximize productivity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment and facility systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment.
  • Install, inspect, and maintain machinery, motors, conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, and other production equipment.
  • Diagnose equipment failures and perform timely repairs to minimize production downtime.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Perform basic electrical troubleshooting, including motors, sensors, switches, relays, and control circuits.
  • Assist with equipment installations, modifications, and continuous improvement projects.
  • Complete work orders and accurately document maintenance activities using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Communicate equipment issues and downtime to production and leadership teams.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas while following 5S standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all OSHA regulations, lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, and company safety policies.
  • Properly use personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintain a safety-first mindset.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and other departments to improve equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
  • Support cross-functional maintenance activities and respond to emergency repairs as needed.
  • Maintain dependable attendance and flexibility to work overtime or alternate shifts when required.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with experience troubleshooting industrial equipment.
  • Working knowledge of electrical systems, motors, controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, conveyors, and power transmission systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical diagrams, and equipment manuals.
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Basic computer skills and experience with CMMS software preferred.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills and commitment to workplace safety.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Industrial Maintenance Technician certification or equivalent technical certification.
  • Experience with PLC troubleshooting, VFDs, robotics, or automated manufacturing equipment.
  • Welding, fabrication, and machining experience.
  • Forklift, scissor lift, or aerial lift certification.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.
