Responsibilities

• Prepare anesthesia machines, monitors, and equipment before surgical procedures
• Inspect, troubleshoot, clean, and maintain anesthesia equipment to ensure proper functionality
• Set up operating rooms with required anesthesia supplies, medications, and airway management equipment
• Assist anesthesiologists and Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) during induction, maintenance, and recovery phases of anesthesia
• Perform equipment calibration and routine preventive maintenance according to facility guidelines
• Restock anesthesia carts, medication trays, and emergency airway supplies
• Assist with invasive monitoring equipment, IV pumps, infusion devices, and specialty anesthesia equipment
• Maintain accurate equipment logs and documentation
• Ensure compliance with infection prevention, sterilization, and patient safety protocols
• Respond promptly to urgent equipment needs during emergency procedures
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, nurses, and perioperative staff to ensure efficient workflow

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of recent Anesthesia Technician experience in an acute care hospital or surgical setting
• ASAAT (American Society of Anesthesia Technologists and Technicians) Certification – Required
• Current BLS Certification required
• Strong knowledge of anesthesia equipment, airway devices, monitoring systems, and operating room procedures
• Experience troubleshooting and maintaining anesthesia machines and related equipment
• Excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced operating room environment
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
• Experience using electronic documentation systems preferred
