CNC Machinist

Location: Lockport, LA

Position Overview: The CNC Machinist fabricates machine components such as shafts, rudder stocks, stern tubes, etc., using manual machinery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate manual mills, lathes, and drill presses in addition to CNC machinery to fabricate machine components.
• Use measuring tools such as dial calipers and micrometers to ensure precision.
• Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and work instructions to complete tasks accurately.
• Perform quality checks on finished components to ensure they meet specifications.

Experience:

• Minimum of 1 year of experience with manual and CNC machining.

Skills and Abilities:

• Proficiency in operating manual mills, lathes, and drill presses.
• Ability to use measuring tools (dial calipers and micrometers).
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and work instructions.
• Strong understanding of machining techniques and best practices.
• Attention to detail and precision in fabricating components.
• Good problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with other team members and departments.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and practices in a machining environment.
