Job PurposeThe Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for directing the fiscal functions of the corporation in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), as issued and enforced by the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB), Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB), Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and other regulatory or advisory organizations. The CFO performs tasks as requested by, and is held directly accountable to, the President/CEO.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesFinancial Leadership & Oversight
- Monitor all corporate accounting and financial functions to ensure accurate financial data and recordkeeping.
- Lead the development and implementation of the organization’s financial strategies and plans.
- Coordinate annual preparation and consolidation of operating and fixed asset budgets for fiscal year.
- Lead the organization’s budgeting process, including forecasting, analysis, and education for managers.
- Review grant proposal budgets.
- Advise leadership on the financial impact of long-range planning, strategic programs, and regulatory actions.
- Develop departmental credibility by providing timely, accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports, and trends to the President/CEO, Board, and senior leaders.
- Prepare monthly reports including:
- Income Statements
- Balance Sheets (debt and reserves)
- Cash Flow Statements
- Accounts Payable/Receivable Aging Analysis
- Review and analyze requests for corporate financial resources; make recommendations to the CEO and Finance Committee.
Compliance, Audits & Controls
- Oversee annual audits for both companies conducted by independent auditors.
- Ensure adherence to fiscal policies across all departments.
- Maintain confidentiality in all financial and personnel matters.
HR & Payroll Coordination
IT Collaboration
- Assess and manage organizational data security risks.
- Plan for current and future IT needs related to financial operations and reporting.
