Registered Nurse – ER

Facility: Holy Cross Hospital - Taos
Location: Taos, NM
Start Date: 08/17/2026
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Night
Schedule: 3x12 (36 Hours)
Patient Ratio: 1:4 (Weekends: 1:3–4)
Charting System: Meditech
Float Required: No
Call Requirement: None
Note: Must have 2 years of full-time ER/Critical Care experience (PRN experience not accepted). TNCC & NRP required. Self-scheduling. Block scheduling not allowed.

 Position Overview:\n

Provide emergency nursing care to patients with medical, surgical, and traumatic conditions in a high-acuity community emergency department. Stabilize critically ill patients, perform rapid assessments, and coordinate transfers to higher levels of care when needed.

 Job Duties:\n
    \n
  • Perform rapid triage and comprehensive emergency patient assessments.
  • \n
  • Administer emergency medications and provide conscious sedation monitoring.
  • \n
  • Manage trauma, telemetry, and critically ill patients in the ED.
  • \n
  • Monitor and care for patients requiring ventilator support.
  • \n
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to stabilize and transfer critical patients.

Requirements:\n

License: Active RN License (must be in hand before start)
Experience: 2 years of recent full-time ER or Critical Care experience (PRN experience not accepted)
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NRP (ENPC & NIHSS preferred)
Other Requirement: COVID vaccination required

Unit: Emergency Department (ED)
Patient Ratios: 1:4 (Weekends: 1:3–4)
Patient Population: Neonates, Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
Patient Diagnoses: Minor illnesses, major medical emergencies, cardiac events, neurological emergencies, trauma injuries, and other high-acuity emergency conditions.
