Cook/Prep

As a cook for Pasta Express you will ensure that we sell the best product, as quickly as possible for our guests.  This position delivers the quality of food and customer service to our guests that they and we expect every time they order a meal.  If our impressions are not great, then we are not providing our guests with the proper service. 

You will be required to know all the ingredients to each dish, know how to prepare each dish, know how to take care of special instructions, know how to run the salad/fryer/pizza station, maintain control of the kitchen, handle catering orders, and be able to perform your job in a timely manner.  Below is a brief overview of the necessary tasks that you may be asked to complete.

Work in an area with chemicals that may be corrosive

• Ensure each and every dish is sold up to Pasta Express standards
• Work in a fast paced setting with little room for error
• Come in with a clean and laundered uniform
• Lift objects that may weigh more than ten pounds.  If you need help ask for it.  Do not attempt to lift any item over thirty-five pounds.
• Work around food.  (If you have any allergies to foods please alert your manager)
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment for yourself and your co-workers
• Understand the operation of a deep fryer, coolers, stoves, ovens, and grills including proper maintenance, cleaning, and operation of machine
• Understand the importance of safety when handling all chemicals and food products
• Understand the proper way to clean and sanitize all items of the restaurant
• Understand the importance of safety in the kitchen at all times
• Be in charge of the daily routine of the kitchen, including cooking individual tickets, cooking caterings, and making sure everyone is on task

Required qualifications:

• Legally authorized to work in the United States
• 16 years or older
• Reliable transportation to and from work
• Able to stand for duration of shift
