Position Overview
As a School Bus Driver, you are responsible for safely transporting students while providing a reliable, professional, and welcoming experience. This role plays a critical part in ensuring students arrive at school and home safely, on time, and in a secure environment.

Safely operate a school bus on assigned routes, including regular, spare, and charter routes
Follow route sheets, maps, street signage, and electronic routing systems
Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, including required child safety checks
Assist students with boarding and exiting the bus, including use of wheelchair lifts when needed
Maintain a safe and orderly environment through effective student management
Communicate professionally with school staff, parents, and students
Attend required safety meetings and ongoing training sessions
Conduct emergency evacuations when necessary, using proper safety procedures
Clean and maintain the bus interior (sweeping, dusting, windows) and exterior windows
Perform additional duties as required by contract or operations
Qualifications
Education & Certifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Valid driver’s license with required endorsements
Must meet all state and local licensing and permit requirements
Skills & Expectations
Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work early morning hours and maintain a consistent schedule
Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
Professional attitude and appearance
Strong commitment to safety and regulatory compliance (OSHA, federal, and state guidelines)
Ability to follow company policies and procedures consistently
Comfortable using technology, including routing devices, mobile tools, and basic computer systems
