North America Central is hiring skilled Diesel Mechanics in the Iowa City, IA area.

Earn Up To $35 Per Hour

3 years of mechanical experience required!

• Up to $35.00 per hour (based on experience and certifications)
• NASCB / ASE certification incentives – earn up to $5.00 extra per hour*

• Perform maintenance and repairs on school buses and company vehicles
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues
• Complete preventative maintenance, brake work, tune-ups, and safety inspections
• Test drive vehicles to verify repairs
• Maintain accurate repair and parts records
• Support and mentor team members as skills grow

• Minimum 3 years of mechanical experience (diesel or heavy vehicle preferred)
• High school diploma or equivalent
• CDL Class B with Passenger endorsement (or ability to obtain within 60 days)
• Strong communication skills and professional attitude
• Ability to work early morning shifts
• Basic computer skills

• Work in a shop/garage, bus yard, and occasional road calls
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and perform physical tasks (bending, crouching, climbing)
• Use of hand and power tools daily
• Must pass DOT physical and comply with a drug-free workplace
