Cottage Care Coordinator | Highgate Senior Living – Flagstaff, AZ
Compensation: $72,000–$80,000 per year

As Cottage Care Coordinator, you’ll guide memory care services, support families, and lead the Cottage team in creating a consistent, meaningful experience for residents living with progressive dementias.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Cottage Care Coordinator oversees the care and service provided to Cottage residents. You’ll lead Cottage Care Partners, develop individualized service plans, coordinate with families and department leaders, and help ensure each resident’s needs, preferences, and life story shape their daily support.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Oversee the care and service provided to Cottage residents.
Create, update, and implement individualized service plans based on resident needs, preferences, and life stories.
Participate in resident assessments and communicate changes in care promptly to families, physicians, and community leadership.
Recruit, hire, train, coach, and supervise Cottage Care Partners.
Develop staffing plans, support coverage needs, and monitor labor and overtime within budget.
Provide hands-on training and regular performance feedback to resident care team members.
Facilitate family meetings and serve as the first point of contact for resident and family concerns.
Partner with department leaders to coordinate clinical, dining, activity, environmental, and care needs.
Support Highgate programming standards, including aromatherapy, purposeful living, spa bathing, hydration, and nutrition programs.
Help team members respond to distress or situational anxiety with person-first, nonpharmacological approaches whenever appropriate.
Maintain compliance with state and local licensing requirements, resident rights, and Highgate policies and procedures.
Monitor quality assurance, incident reporting, supplies, and Cottage presentation.
SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES
Compassionate, person-first leadership style.
Advanced knowledge of progressive dementias and memory care practices.
Strong communication, coaching, delegation, and conflict-resolution skills.
Organized and dependable, with sound judgment and follow-through.
Comfortable balancing resident advocacy, family communication, staffing, and compliance responsibilities.
Able to lead by example and build trust across teams.
RELATABLE EXPERIENCE
Memory care or dementia care leadership.
Senior living, assisted living, or healthcare team supervision.
Resident assessments and service plan development.
Family communication and care conferences.
Training, scheduling, and performance management of direct-care team members.
Quality assurance and regulatory compliance.
QUALIFICATIONS
21 years of age or older.
Active Arizona CCG credential in good standing.
Current CPR and First Aid certification, or ability to obtain.
Current TB test and successful criminal background clearance.
Demonstrated advanced knowledge of varying types of dementia.
Experience supporting residents through the progression of dementia.
Strong communication, writing, computer, typing, and interpersonal skills.
Valid driver’s license.
Ability to sit, stand, bend, and move continuously during work hours and lift or carry up to 50 pounds with assistance.
Ability to meet all applicable state and local licensing requirements.
Demonstrated leadership experience in a resident care setting.
