Job Description

Responsible for assisting physicians and nursing staff with patient care and treatment of orthopaedic patients. Responsible for chart management and patient flow. Performs delegated medical tasks such as casting, bracing, and splinting. May perform clerical duties. Where the electronic system is in use, this position will utilize the system as documented in the department and/or FPI standard operating procedure and process; and other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Certification as an Orthopedic Technologist (COT) through the National Board for Certification of Orthopaedic Technologists (NBCOT)
  • Demonstrated skill in venipuncture, wound care, and cast care
  • Three to five years orthopaedic technologist and medical office experience in an Orthopaedic environment
  • CPR certification is required

The referenced base salary range represents the low and high end of University of Maryland’s Faculty Physician’s Inc. salary range for this position. Some candidates will not be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate’s geographical location, skills, work experience, market conditions, internal equity, responsibility factor and span of control, education/ training and other qualifications.
