Job Description
MedCare Pediatric is seeking an experienced Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) to serve as our Occupational Therapy Clinical Coordinator. This hybrid leadership role combines direct pediatric patient care with clinical oversight, therapist support, documentation review, and operational coordination.
The ideal candidate enjoys treating patients while mentoring clinicians, improving workflows, and supporting a high-quality, collaborative therapy team.
- Provide clinical leadership and support to Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy, and therapy assistant teams.
- Mentor and coach therapists to promote quality care, accountability, and professional growth.
- Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) in accordance with Texas regulations.
- Assist with complex patient cases and promote evidence-based, family-centered care.
- Maintain an active pediatric home health caseload.
- Complete evaluations, treatment visits, supervisory visits, and documentation within required timelines.
- Collaborate with families, physicians, referral sources, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Monitor documentation for accuracy, timeliness, and regulatory compliance.
- Support quality improvement initiatives, documentation audits, and corrective action plans.
- Assist with therapist scheduling, staffing coordination, productivity monitoring, and EVV compliance.
- Participate in leadership meetings and departmental improvement projects.
Required
- Current Texas Occupational Therapy license in good standing.
- Strong clinical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to balance patient care with leadership responsibilities.
- Proficiency with EMR systems and Microsoft Office.
Preferred
- Pediatric home health experience.
- Previous leadership, supervisory, or mentoring experience.
- Knowledge of Medicaid, insurance authorizations, EVV, and home health documentation requirements.
- High-quality, timely documentation
