Licensed Vocational Nurse

Job Summary:
The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) provides direct nursing care to patients in a primary care setting under the supervision of a registered nurse, nurse practitioner, or physician. The LVN supports clinical operations by assisting with patient assessments, treatments, and education to promote quality health outcomes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform routine clinical tasks, including vital signs, injections, immunizations, and specimen collection.

• Assist providers with examinations and procedures.

• Administer medications and treatments as directed.

• Document patient care accurately in the electronic health record (EHR).

• Educate patients on health maintenance, disease prevention, and treatment plans.

• Monitor patients for changes in condition and report concerns promptly.

• Support care coordination and follow-up with patients as needed.

• Ensure compliance with infection control, safety standards, and HIPAA regulations.

• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and staff meetings.

• Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment.

Qualifications:

• Current and valid LVN license in the state of Texas.

• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.

• One year of clinical nursing experience preferred; primary care or outpatient setting experience is a plus.

• Proficient in using EHR systems and basic computer applications.

• Strong communication, organizational, and patient care skills.
