Location: Dayton, OH
Program: Group Home Foster Care
Employment Type: Full-Time, Part-Time, & PRN (As Needed); days, evenings, overnights
Pay Range: $18-$20 per hour
Reports To: Site Director
Youth Served: 4–10

Position Overview


Unk’s Place is seeking Residential Youth Specialists to provide direct care and supervision to youth living in a residential group home setting. This role is ideal for adults who are steady, responsible, and committed to supporting young people through structure, care, and consistency.

What You’ll Do

• Supervise and support youth during assigned shifts
• Assist with daily routines such as meals, hygiene, chores, and life skills
•  Respond to behavioral and emotional needs using approved support strategies
•  Complete shift documentation and incident reports 
• Transport youth to appointments and activities
• Follow agency policies, safety procedures, and licensing standards
• Perform other duties as assigned

Training Provided


No prior certifications required. Unk’s Place provides training in:

• Crisis prevention and intervention
•  First Aid and safety response
• Documentation and supervision expectations
• Agency policies and residential care standards

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations
•  Strong communication skills and sound judgment
• Willingness to learn and work as part of a team

Additional Requirements

• Ability to meet agency driving requirements
• Ability to pass background checks and required clearances
•  Availability for evenings, weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts
