Contract (13 or 26 week options available) | Night Shift (3x12 Hours, 19:00–07:30) | 36 or 48 hour weekly options | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a general medical surgical and telemetry unit serving patients with conditions including total knee and hip replacements, complicated orthopedic cases, pulmonary, sepsis, GI, endocrine, cardiac, renal, and psychiatric illnesses
• Manage and monitor patients on drips across all assigned floors
• Perform weekly assessments, vital checks, and lab coordination with support from care techs and other clinicians as applicable
• Document patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health records system
• Float within scope to meet facility staffing needs across various units, including medical surgical, observation, neuro, trauma, and other designated units
• Adhere to weekend and holiday scheduling requirements, including working 4 out of 8 possible weekend shifts per 4-week period and 2 out of 3 major holidays

Required Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license (pending Nebraska RN license accepted; if not in hand at time of submission, start date will be booked six weeks out)
• Minimum 2 years of Telemetry experience, with at least 2 years in a large, urban hospital setting
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Proficiency with EPIC charting system required
• Demonstrated ability to manage drips; drip experience required on all floors
• Willingness and ability to float frequently to various units to meet staffing needs

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
• Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification preferred
• NIH Stroke Scale certification preferred
• Prior experience at a Level I Academic Medical Center (may be considered in lieu of standard first-timer restrictions)
