Job Title

Progressive Care Registered Nurse – Varied Shift

Location

Hilo, HI

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Rotating Shift | 36 hours per week | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide primary nursing care for patients in a 15-bed Progressive Care Unit, including Step Down ICU and telemetry beds
• Perform continuous telemetry monitoring and telemetry strip reading
• Conduct fingerstick blood sugar monitoring and related bedside assessments
• Utilize unit equipment including Meditech charting, Pyxis medication dispensing, BIPAP, and continuous cardiac monitoring systems
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4 for Progressive Care and 1:3 for Step Down ICU
• Float to other acute care units within the facility, including Medical, Surgical/Pediatrics, ICU, and Emergency departments as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active State of Hawaii RN license required by assignment start date
• Minimum of 1 year of hospital acute care experience within the last year
• Proficiency with telemetry monitoring and strip reading
• Ability to work a rotating shift schedule

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Progressive Care and telemetry unit experience strongly preferred
• ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certification preferred
• Familiarity with Meditech charting and Pyxis medication systems
