Job Description
ATON, a leading environmental consulting and engineering firm, is seeking an Environmental Scientist to join our growing Due Diligence practice in St. Louis, Missouri. This role will primarily support Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, with additional involvement in Phase II and ACM/LBP field investigations, report preparation, and proposal support.

Job Responsibilities
● Conduct Phase I Environmental Site Assessments in accordance with ASTM E1527-21, including site reconnaissance, historical research, regulatory database review, and interviews.
● Coordinate with clients, property owners, and regulatory agencies as needed.
● Support field activities under the direction of a project manager, including:
○ Phase II subsurface investigations, including soil and groundwater sampling
○ ACM (asbestos-containing material) and LBP (lead-based paint) field inspections
● Maintain detailed field documentation and photographic records.
● Assist in preparation of Phase II and ACM/LBP inspection reports.
● Assist with proposal preparation as needed.
● Provide quality control and quality assurance for all assigned work.
● Abide by ATON's health and safety policies and procedures.
Basic Qualifications
● Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
● 4-5 years of experience preparing Phase I Environmental Site Assessment reports.
● Working knowledge of the ASTM E1527-21 standard and applicable Missouri and Illinois regulations.
● Computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.
● Valid driver's license.
● Provide references and report writing examples upon request.
Preferred
● 40-hour HAZWOPER certification.
● ACM Inspector license.
Work Environment
This is primarily an in-office position based in St. Louis, Missouri, with limited field travel. When travel is required, it is typically a single day trip, with occasional overnight stays.
