Job Description
Position Overview
Are you the go-to person when a friend's car breaks down? Do you enjoy taking things apart just to see how they work? We are looking for a Forklift Technician who is mechanically inclined, eager to learn, and ready to start a career in the high-demand field of material handling equipment.
In this role, you will work alongside our senior mechanics to learn the "ins and outs" of a modern distribution fleet. We will provide the mentorship and training; you provide the drive to succeed.
Key Responsibilities
Learning the Fundamentals
- Preventative Maintenance: Perform oil changes, fluid checks, and tire rotations to keep our fleet running smoothly.
- Basic Repairs: Replacing starters, alternators, and hydraulic hoses.
- Battery Care: Learn to maintain and charge large-scale industrial batteries and charging stations.
Safety & Organization
- Safety Inspections: Conduct basic "pre-trip" style inspections to ensure all masts, chains, and lights are functioning correctly.
- Shop Upkeep: Help keep our maintenance shop organized and safe, ensuring tools are tracked and the work area is clean.
- Digital Logging: Use our internal software to log completed tasks and track parts used.
Who You Are (Requirements)
- Mechanically Minded: You have a basic understanding of engines, hydraulics, or electrical systems (even if it's from working on your own vehicle or a school project).
- Tool Ready: You possess a basic set of hand tools and a desire to build your professional collection over time.
- Safety First: You follow instructions carefully and understand that in a warehouse, safety is the #1 priority.
- Strong Work Ethic: You aren't afraid to get your hands dirty and you show up on time, every time.
- Background: A High School Diploma is required; a certificate from a trade school or automotive program is a huge plus but not required.
Why Join Our Team?
- Paid Training: Get paid to learn a specialized trade.
- Stable Schedule: Enjoy a consistent 40-hour week with a professional, local team.
Collaborative Environment: Work alongside a dedicated, supportive team focused on innovation
Growth Opportunities: We invest in our employees’ professional development, offering ample opportunities for learning and career advancement
Competitive Compensation: We provide a comprehensive benefits package and a competitive salary commensurate with experience
Family-Oriented Culture: As a family-owned business, we foster a sense of teamwork, respect, and flexibility that helps everyone succeed
