Position Purpose

Provide quality medical oversight and support for individuals with developmental disabilities. Supervise unlicensed staff in delegated medical tasks, participate in the nursing on‐call system, and collaborate with treatment teams across multiple office locations. Serve as a resource for staff, clients, and families, ensuring appropriate levels of care and training.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct client visits, review medical reports, and coordinate follow‐up care.
  • Train and supervise staff on medication administration and special procedures.
  • Monitor hospitalized clients and facilitate communication with treatment teams.
  • Participate in on‐call rotation to provide telephone support.
  • Lead team meetings for significant medical concerns or procedures.
  • Accompany clients to critical medical appointments when needed.
  • Administer medications and assist with pill planners in outpatient settings.
  • Provide education groups on health topics such as co‐morbidities, medications, and nutrition.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Collaborate with other departments and community providers.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited RN program.
  • Active Vermont RN license required; New Hampshire or multi‐state license preferred.
  • CPR certification.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules and travel between sites.
  • Preferred experience in developmental services and psychiatric care.
