Full-Time Substitute Teacher (2026–2027 School Year)
Position: Full-Time Substitute Teacher
School Year: 2026–2027
Employment Type: Full-Time
Compensation: $33.00–$35.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated, flexible, and student-centered Full-Time Substitute Teacher to join our team for the 2026–2027 school year. The ideal candidate is passionate about supporting student achievement, can quickly adapt to different classroom environments, and is committed to providing high-quality instruction to diverse learners.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging instruction and maintain a positive classroom environment.
- Implement lesson plans and develop instructional activities as needed.
- Create and modify lesson plans to meet student learning objectives.
- Provide instruction in whole-group, small-group, and one-on-one learning settings.
- Support student learning while maintaining classroom routines and expectations.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to ensure continuity of instruction.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and classroom activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA.
- Experience working in a Title I school and/or with special education students preferred.
- Experience facilitating small-group instruction and individual learning sessions.
- Strong lesson planning and classroom management skills.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Must be willing to obtain District of Columbia (DC) teacher certification if not currently certified.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous K–12 classroom teaching or long-term substitute teaching experience.
- Knowledge of differentiated instruction and inclusive teaching practices.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and staff.
