Mechanic / Labor

Job Responsibilities

• Inspects and repairs vehicles with diesel engines, heavy equipment engines and standard engines
• Handles routine repairs and maintenance, including oil and tire rotations/changes, transmission flushes, air condition re-charges, front-end alignment, battery installations and headlight/taillight repair, etc. on all types
• Performs and identifies conditions by routine inspections and diagnostic test
• Advises management on repair options and costs through detailed inspection reports and repair plans
• Corrects vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems
• Completes test drives to make sure the vehicles and equipment runs efficiently and safely before employee use
• Knowledge of power, machine, and hand tools with the ability to use accurately
• Follows all motor/equipment vehicle repair regulations and standards
• Maintain service records, repair logs and receipts of all jobs performed to assure accurate vehicle records and job costing
• Operates al types of equipment within the yard where task requires
• Will perform winter snow removal of premises and its surroundings with company equipment
