Mixed Age Preschool Teacher

We are a small in-home preschool in North Portland. We provide safe and nurturing care for children, while facilitating developmentally appropriate play driven activities that inspire children to develop positive social skills, self-esteem and cognitive development. We are currently looking for someone who is passionate about working with young children as well as someone who likes working with a small group of adults. So, if you have a great work ethic, if you love setting up various play activities and you enjoy gaining knowledge of early childhood play practices, this could be the place for you.

We are currently hiring a mixed age Preschool Teacher.

This is a full time position.

Duties include: Caring for and supervising children, setting up and maintaining play spaces, food preparation, diaper changes/potty-training support, documenting learning, communication with families, and cleaning and sanitizing all areas of the school as needed.

The physical demands of the job would be to lift and carry children between the ages of 6 weeks and 5 years. Also, we spend a great deal of time outside with the children, so enjoying nature and outside time is important.

We do NOT offer Health Insurance. We DO offer paid holidays and 3 one week vacations after a 90 day probationary period.

Per state rules, wearing masks is mandatory. We also require our staff to be vaccinated for Covid 19. Candidate must show proof of vaccination.

Basic Requirements:

1. Enrollment in the State of Oregon Early Learning Division Background Check Registry.

2. Health and Safety online class.

3. Food Handler's Card online class.

4. Infant/Toddler CPR and First Aid class.

5. Recognizing And Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect online class.

6. Oregon Safe Sleep online class.

7. PREFERRED 2 years of experience working in Early Childhood Education.
