Job Description
LaSante Health Center is seeking a reliable and professional Ambulette Driver to support safe and timely transportation for patients. The ideal candidate will demonstrate consistent punctuality, and a commitment to professionalism while ensuring quality service and patient safety. Weekday/Weekends/Holiday shifts available.
Responsibilities:
Safely transport disabled and mobility-limited members to and from medical appointments and approved destinations
Provide courteous, respectful, and compassionate assistance to members at all times
Operate ambulette buses in a safe, defensive, and reliable manner in accordance with traffic laws and organizational policies
Conduct required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and promptly report mechanical or safety concerns
Assist members with boarding and exiting the vehicle by safely operating vehicle lifts and securement systems and other mobility devices
Escort members to and from the vehicle as needed to ensure safe transfers
Maintain cleanliness and sanitary condition of vehicles, including interior surfaces and passenger areas
Adhere to all HIPAA and patient confidentiality requirements
Accurately complete trip logs, inspection reports, and required documentation using mobile applications or electronic systems
Communicate effectively with dispatch, supervisors, and clinic staff regarding schedules, delays, or member needs
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Valid New York State driver’s license held for a minimum of three (3) years
Clean driving record with no current license points
Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and professionalism; consistent attendance is essential
Prior experience operating a bus or mini-bus preferred
Proficiency with smartphones and mobile applications; basic working knowledge of Microsoft Excel required
Ability to work full-time schedules (40+ hours per week)
Weekend and/or holiday availability preferred
