Job Title: Experienced Diesel Technician (Cummins / Caterpillar Specialist)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Diesel Technician with expertise in Cummins and/or Caterpillar engines and equipment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines and related systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in diesel engines and heavy equipment
- Perform repairs and maintenance on Cummins and Caterpillar engines, generators, and machinery
- Use diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot engine faults and system failures
- Conduct routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and overhauls
- Interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service bulletins
- Ensure all work meets safety standards and manufacturer specifications
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation
- Communicate effectively with service advisors, supervisors, and customers
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3–5+ years of experience working with diesel engines
- Proven experience with Cummins and/or Caterpillar equipment required
- Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems, including fuel, electrical, emissions, and hydraulics
- Experience using OEM diagnostic software (e.g., INSITE, CAT ET)
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and schematics
- Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred but not required)
Preferred Certifications:
- OEM certifications from Cummins or Caterpillar
- ASE Diesel Certification (T2–T8)
- Technical school or trade program completion
Skills & Attributes:

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong work ethic and reliability
Working Conditions:
- Shop and field service environments
- May require lifting heavy components (50+ lbs)
