Senior Accountant - Hybrid

Job Overview

A well-established organization in the Kansas City area is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join their growing accounting team. This hybrid position is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys working with financial reporting, analysis, and partnering with leadership to support strategic business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure the accuracy of financial data.
• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and account adjustments.
• Perform monthly balance sheet and bank account reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
• Assist with the annual budgeting process and periodic financial forecasting.
• Prepare financial reports and variance analyses for senior leadership.
• Present financial statements, key metrics, and financial analysis to upper management.
• Support month-end and year-end close activities to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
• Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and company accounting policies.
• Perform additional accounting and finance projects as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business required.
• 4+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a senior accounting role.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Experience preparing financial statements and presenting financial information to leadership.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
