Tree Climber/Trimmer (Min 2 years experience)

Job Description

Woodsman Driftwood, LLC is seeking an experienced, safety-minded Tree Climber / Tree Trimmer to join our production crew. If you are a skilled climber who takes pride in quality tree care, precision removals, and maintaining a safe job site, we want to hear from you.

This is a full-time position requiring advanced climbing skills and a strong work ethic.

Duties

• Conduct tree trimming and pruning operations
• Utilize rigging techniques for safe tree removal
• Assist with garden and landscape maintenance activities
• Tree identification and industry pruning guidelines
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, and more.

Pay & Benefits

• Starting Pay: $22.00/hour (Final offer commensurate with experience)

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality tree maintenance including fine pruning, structural trimming, and deadwood removal (cleaning trees).
• Execute complex, safe tree removals using advanced rigging and climbing techniques.
• Operate essential equipment safely (chainsaws, chippers, stump grinders).
• Collaborate with ground crew to ensure a clean, efficient, and accident-free job site.
• Adhere strictly to industry safety standards (ANSI Z133).

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of professional tree climbing and trimming experience (Required).
• Knots & Rigging: Must have a proven mastery of essential climbing and rigging knots. You will be tested on your ability to tie:
• Running Bowline
• Alpine Butterfly
• Blake's Hitch
• Climbing: Proficiency in production climbing, working aloft, and utilizing modern SRT/DRT climbing systems.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to lift 50+ lbs, work outdoors in various weather conditions, and handle the physical demands of daily climbing.
• Driver's License: Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (CDL is a plus).

Schedule

• Day shift 7am-3 or 4pm
• Monday to Friday (with occasional weekend availability depending on weather/workload)

Our Tree Service Company has been in business in Taylor and surrounding area for over 40 years. We trim and remove trees, stump grinding, travel to nearby ranches for stump pulling. Ideally you have a love of the outdoors and a background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights.
