Union Community Health Center (UNION), operating continuously as a health care

provider in the Bronx since 1909, is today one of the largest Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) in NYS. UNION’s mission is to provide comprehensive, culturally competent primary and preventive health care services to improve the health status and decrease health disparities of the medically underserved populations in the Bronx, providing services to all regardless of age, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion or the ability to pay.

 

UNION continues to impact more Bronx residents each year with five clinic locations and two Mobile Units (medical and dental). Two additional locations are scheduled to open in 2024 and early 2025. UNION serves nearly 40,000 underserved residents of the Bronx providing over 200,000 patient care visits annually. UNION utilizes an impressive model of a holistic and integrated approach to patient care that unifies primary care, behavioral health, and dental care providers creating one team, designing and delivering care for each patient. Additionally, UNION provides specialty services, needed and otherwise difficult for Medicaid patients to access, including physical and occupational therapy, speech therapy, audiology, cardiology, behavioral health and psychiatric services among many others.

 

Rate

$100-110 per hour based on experience

 

Attending General Dentist – General Practice Residency (GPR) Program

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced General Dentist to join our General Practice Residency (GPR) program as an Attending Dentist. This is an exceptional opportunity to shape the next generation of dental professionals through clinical supervision, mentorship, and interdisciplinary collaboration in an academic healthcare setting.

 

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Supervision & Teaching

• Provide direct clinical supervision and chairside teaching to GPR residents

• Mentor residents in treatment planning, clinical decision-making, and professional development

• Guide residents in developing technical skills and clinical judgment

 

Academic Contribution

• Participate in case reviews, resident evaluations, and program educational activities

• Provide didactic instruction and lectures within the GPR curriculum, as appropriate

• Contribute to curriculum development and program improvement initiatives

 

Collaborative Care

• Collaborate with specialty faculty and hospital departments to support comprehensive patient care

• Foster an interdisciplinary approach to complex cases

• Ensure compliance with GPR program standards, hospital policies, and accreditation requirements

 

Qualifications

Required:

• Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from an accredited dental school

• Current, unrestricted dental license in New York State

• Broad clinical experience in general dentistry

• Strong commitment to resident education and care of diverse patient populations

 

Preferred:

• Prior experience in academic dentistry or residency training

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Passion for teaching and mentorship

 

Position Details

• Schedule: Full-time or part-time opportunities available.  Per Diem available excludes benefit program.

• Compensation: Competitive salary commensurate with experience
