Progressive Die Press Set-Up Operator

Job Description

We are currently seeking a metal stamping production setup associate whose primary responsibility will be setting up progressive die jobs, verifying setups are complete, and operating presses once set-up is complete. This role also includes reading and understanding inspection prints for first piece approval and part prints for equipment adjustments.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate stamping presses
• Read and interpret inspection and part prints for first piece approval and machine adjustments
• Understand and follow control plans and work instructions per ISO/TS and IATF Standards
• Maintain excellent housekeeping and shop safety practices
• Achieve or exceed required setup rates and times
• Work with supervisors to improve setup processes and assist in repairs
• Retrieve required tooling from die storage racks
• Perform setups per shop paper and press setup instructions
• Verify setup completion and confirm all safety measures are in place
• Handle material as needed for setups
• Submit samples to Quality Control promptly
• Support production operators and tool room staff as needed
• Stop production when known or suspected nonconforming conditions exist

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience in metal stamping punch press setups (20–300 tons)
• Familiarity with Wintress programmable limits for die safety and feeder programming
• Forklift certified or able to become certified through company training
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Team-oriented, dependable, and punctual
• Strong planning, organization, and decision-making skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Ownership of personal tools is a plus
