Welder III
Phoenix, AZ
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM
Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Welder III to join our manufacturing team in Phoenix, AZ. This position is responsible for performing MIG (Gas Metal Arc Welding) and TIG (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding) on a diverse range of products, including large and small close-tolerance weldments. The ideal candidate will have strong experience welding aluminum, as well as steel and stainless steel, and be able to work from blueprints, welding symbols, and work instructions with minimal supervision.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3+ years of welding experience preferred
- Strong experience with Aluminum MIG and TIG welding
- Experience working with:
- Aluminum (tube and sheet)
- Steel (tube and sheet)
- Stainless Steel (tube and sheet)
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, manufacturing drawings, and AWS welding symbols
- Experience using measuring tools including:
- Micrometers
- Calipers
- Tape measures
- Squares and rules
- Ability to perform welds that pass visual inspections and destructive testing
- Basic math skills, including measurements, conversions, and calculations
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Receive and review work orders, blueprints, and instructions for assigned jobs
- Plan work procedures, tooling, and material requirements
- Set up welding equipment according to Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS)
- Perform advanced MIG and TIG welding operations on production and custom weldments
- Layout, fit, tack, and fabricate complex weldments using fixtures, jigs, and welding equipment
- Interpret AWS welding codes, symbols, and blueprint requirements
- Position and align weldment details using measuring devices to ensure quality standards are met
- Operate material handling equipment as needed
- Fabricate equipment by cutting, burning, and welding various metals
- Clean and prepare surfaces prior to welding
- Inspect completed weldments to ensure compliance with quality and AWS standards
- Perform minor maintenance on welding equipment and tools
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance
- Perform other duties as assigned
