Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights (3x12 Hours, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite | Every Other Weekend Required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical / Telemetry unit with a focus on cardiac diagnoses
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias and utilize Rapid Response Teams as appropriate
• Perform phlebotomy and peripheral IV placement as mandatory clinical competencies
• Manage peripheral line care, non-invasive airway management, and various oxygen delivery systems including nasal cannula, face masks, and portable oxygen tanks
• Maintain and document patient care using Epic electronic health records
• Float to like units within scope to meet facility staffing needs as required

Required Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered New York State RN license required prior to submission (pending licenses not accepted)
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience in Medical Surgical or Telemetry setting
• Current BLS certification
• Epic charting experience (hard requirement)
• Demonstrated competency in phlebotomy and peripheral IV placement
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility (locals not accepted)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with isolation precautions and infection control protocols
• Familiarity with Rapid Response Team activation and management
• Background in cardiac unit patient care
