Travel RN – Medical Telemetry (Nights)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13–26 Weeks | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to perform assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of direct patient care for all age groups, including medical, medical telemetry, and respiratory patients
• Monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient care and comfort
• Evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers and maintain professional accountability
• Demonstrate experience and competence in drug titration
• Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information at all times
• Float on a rotational basis as required; note that night shift orientation occurs on day shift and availability is required for the entire orientation week

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license — must meet eligibility criteria for licensure in the state of Missouri or currently hold a Missouri RN license
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) only
• NIHSS certification — may be submitted without, but must be obtained prior to start date
• Minimum 1 year of inpatient telemetry experience
• Flu vaccination or facility-approved exemption required for assignments running November 1 through April 1; declinations are not accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working with medical, medical telemetry, and respiratory patient populations
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR
• Familiarity with telemetry monitoring equipment, lift equipment, IV pumps, and tube feeding pumps
• Determined, decisive, and flexible personality well-suited to a fast-paced inpatient environment
