Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Medical Laboratory Scientist II (MLS II) to perform routine and complex laboratory testing in a clinical laboratory environment. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, experience troubleshooting laboratory instrumentation, and a commitment to delivering accurate and timely patient results while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Determine specimen acceptability according to established laboratory criteria.
  • Perform routine and complex laboratory testing following departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Operate, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation.
  • Make technical decisions regarding testing procedures and problem resolution.
  • Prepare, validate, and evaluate new reagents and quality control materials.
  • Report accurate and timely laboratory test results.
  • Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
  • Maintain adequate testing bench supplies and laboratory inventory.
  • Assist with specimen processing when needed.
  • Maintain a safe laboratory environment and follow all PPE and safety protocols.
  • Collaborate effectively with laboratory staff to ensure quality patient care.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or another qualifying science field meeting CLIA and state requirements.
  • 2-4 years of clinical laboratory testing experience required.
  • State Medical Technologist License, if required by state regulations.
  • ASCP or AMT certification preferred or required, depending on client requirements.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Proficiency with laboratory computer systems; experience with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Must successfully pass a Color Vision Screening.
  • Flexibility to work overtime or alternate shifts based on business needs.
