Job Duties

• Prepare fresh fruits, vegetables, salads, and other cold food items according to established recipes and food safety standards.
• Wash, cut, chop, and portion ingredients for daily service.
• Set up and stock salad bar stations before meal periods.
• Monitor food levels throughout service and replenish items as needed.
• Ensure all food products are properly labeled, dated, and stored.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, salad bar, serving stations, and kitchen equipment.
• Follow all health department regulations and food safety guidelines.
• Assist with receiving, stocking, and rotating food inventory.
• Clean and sanitize food preparation areas, utensils, and equipment.
• Provide friendly and professional customer service to students, faculty, and guests.
• Assist cafeteria staff with other food preparation and kitchen duties as assigned.

Education Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Experience Requirements

• Previous food service, cafeteria, restaurant, or kitchen experience preferred.
• Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and cleanliness.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Strong customer service and communication abilities.
• Ability to maintain a clean and professional appearance.
• Commitment to food quality, safety, and sanitation standards.

Physical Capabilities

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, and carrying up to 30 pounds.
• Ability to work in refrigerated and kitchen environments.
• Manual dexterity to safely operate kitchen tools and equipment.
