Title: Service Operator I
Contract Length: 12 months with possible extension
Location: Columbia, SC 29203
Schedule: Monday - Friday | 8-hour shift between 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM

Job Summary:

Receives and processes incoming switchboard calls while providing excellent customer service. Responsible for answering and transferring internal and external calls, maintaining departmental reports, assisting with mailings, and supporting departmental operations. Provides training to new employees and ensures efficient communication through the corporate switchboard.

Day to Day:

80% Answers, screens, and transfers incoming internal and external switchboard calls while providing professional customer service and accurate call routing.

10% Maintains departmental reports and ensures documentation is accurate and up to date.

5% Assists the department with mailings and other administrative support tasks.

5% Trains and assists new employees on switchboard procedures and departmental processes.

Required Software and Tools:

• Microsoft Office.
• Familiarity with computer console and directory systems.

Preferred Software and Tools:

• Working knowledge of switchboard equipment.

Required Education:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Required Work Experience:

• No previous work experience required.

Preferred Work Experience:

• 1 year of switchboard experience.
