About This Role

The Director of Advising independently manages direct supervision, professional development, performance evaluation, and coaching of all legacy KSCAC field advisors across three geographic regions (Kansas City, Wichita, and southwest Kansas). Sole supervisor of the legacy advising workforce. Owns the central question: "Are our advisors excellent?" Trains all advisors on D3 curriculum, develops and maintains the program's KPI framework across all postsecondary pathways, and makes independent decisions on advisor retention, coaching, and separation. Maintains dotted-line relationship with 3 Patterson pilot hybrid advisors for advising quality assurance.

Worksite Description

This position is Remote eligible. This position is primarily remote; however, the employee may be required to travel to various school sites for meetings, training, collaboration, or other business-related needs. Occasional in-person attendance at designated locations may be necessary to support operational and organizational objectives.

All employees must reside in the United States when they begin working to comply with state law. K-State is unable to provide remote or hybrid work opportunities for residents of the state of Idaho.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires a high school diploma (or equivalent) and nine years of relevant experience. Requirements may be met through a combination of work experience and education.
  • Valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters in higher ed admin, public admin, or business
  • University grants management systems (Cayuse)
  • K-State/Regents admin systems (PageUp, KSIS, financial systems)
  • Federal/state/foundation grant applications and reports
  • College/career readiness, K-12 partnerships, postsecondary access
  • Microsoft 365 (Power BI, SharePoint, Teams)
  • Organizational and project management
  • Multi-site event logistics; written communication for grant proposals and compliance reports.
