Job Description
Take your skills in special education to a supportive elementary environment, working with a dedicated team focused on making a meaningful impact. This opportunity centers on affective needs, providing crucial guidance and instruction for students requiring social-emotional support. As a Special Education Teacher, you’ll work on-site at a single elementary school in the North Denver area, facilitating growth and academic success for students ages 5–21.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Colorado Teaching License with Special Education Generalist Endorsement (ages 5–21)
- Experience supporting students with social-emotional/affective needs is highly desired
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to liaise effectively with families, staff, and administrators
- Ability to complete district credentialing and contractor paperwork promptly
- Willingness to commit to the contract duration and uphold ethical standards in a school-based setting
Your Role & Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction, support, and intervention to students with affective needs in an inclusive elementary setting
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) compliant with federal and state requirements
- Maintain accurate records of progress, communicate regularly with parents/guardians, and participate in IEP meetings
- Adapt and modify curriculum based on student needs, fostering a positive and respectful learning environment
- Collaborate daily with general education teachers and related service providers to support student growth
- Fulfill the 37.5-hour workweek at the assigned campus; contract runs from ASAP through October 2nd
