Special Education Teacher | Denver, Colorado

Embark on a rewarding contract position supporting students as an Affective Needs Teacher in the North Denver area. You’ll make a daily impact at an elementary school with a single site assignment, serving students with affective needs as part of a dedicated special education program. This on-site opportunity offers stability, working a full-time 37.5 hour week, with the chance to begin immediately and continue through early October.

Key Qualifications:

• Active Colorado teaching license required, with a Special Education Generalist Endorsement for ages 5–21
• Recent school-based special education teaching experience, preferably supporting affective needs
• Ability to fulfill all district-specific contractor documentation quickly
• Strong communication, collaboration, and behavioral intervention skills
• Passion for fostering inclusion and academic success within diverse elementary student populations

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide tailored instruction, behavioral support, and social-emotional interventions to students with affective needs
• Collaborate with general educators, support staff, and families to develop and implement effective individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Collect and track student data to guide instructional adjustments and report on goal progress
• Maintain compliance with district, state, and federal special education guidelines
• Create a classroom climate that encourages respect, safety, and positive student engagement
