Job Description
Make a difference in the lives of students by stepping into a dynamic Special Education teaching contract for the upcoming school year. This high school-focused position will have you working across two local high schools in a full-time capacity, supporting students as a Resource Teacher from September through the end of the school year.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education (SPED) teaching certification
- Hold a current CDE license
- Proven experience or strong foundational knowledge working with high school students
- Ability to collaborate with general education staff and special services teams
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Adaptability to work across multiple school settings
What You'll Do:
- Serve as a Resource Teacher for high school students, delivering specialized instruction and support
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in accordance with state and federal guidelines
- Split your schedule between two high school campuses, ensuring continuity of care and services
- Foster an inclusive, positive learning environment for students with diverse learning needs
- Track student progress and adjust teaching strategies as needed
- Consult and collaborate with classroom teachers, families, and related service providers
- Maintain documentation and compliance for all assigned students
