Job Description
Step into a fulfilling contract opportunity serving students with significant developmental and medical needs in a dedicated school environment. This assignment spans from August 26, 2026, through June 16, 2027, focusing on early childhood and primary learners in PK through 2nd grade.
Key Qualifications:
- Active DSE Severe teaching licensure required
- Demonstrated experience as a Special Education Teacher, particularly in severe needs settings
- Strong background working with children who have profound disabilities and complex medical needs
- Understanding of developmentally appropriate practices for young learners
- Keen ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams, including therapists and nursing staff
Role Responsibilities:
- Oversee a caseload comprising multiple students with severe cognitive and medical challenges
- Develop, implement, and adapt Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) to address student-specific academic, functional, and health-related goals
- Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies and adaptive tools tailored to each student
- Communicate regularly with families and caregivers, ensuring coordinated care and meaningful progress updates
- Collaborate frequently with support staff and service providers to facilitate integrated and safe learning experiences
- Maintain compliance with all state and federal education regulations for students with severe needs
