Job Title: Material Handler
Job Description
This role focuses on safely and accurately handling materials, supporting shipping and receiving operations, and ensuring products move efficiently through the warehouse. You will work closely with shippers, receivers, packers, and other material handlers to process orders, stage products according to standard operating procedures (SOPs), and use shipping software and warehouse systems to maintain accurate inventory records.
Responsibilities
- Receive incoming orders accurately and verify that all materials match the accompanying documentation.
- Stage products according to established standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure efficient workflow and accurate order processing.
- Prepare outbound shipments using FedEx and UPS systems, including entering shipment details and generating labels.
- Palletize materials safely and efficiently to support storage, staging, and shipping activities.
- Perform material handling tasks such as loading, unloading, moving, and organizing products within the facility.
- Operate sit-down forklifts and other warehouse equipment as needed to move materials and support daily operations.
- Assist with packing activities to ensure products are properly packaged and protected for shipment.
- Support inventory control by performing cycle counts and reporting discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Enter data accurately into computer systems, including shipping information, inventory updates, and order status.
- Collaborate with shippers, receivers, packers, and other team members to meet customer requirements and adapt to changing needs.
- Follow all safety procedures and warehouse guidelines to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Perform general labor tasks and other duties as assigned to support overall warehouse and logistics operations.
Essential Skills
- At least 2 years of experience using FedEx shipping systems.
- At least 2 years of experience using UPS shipping systems.
- Proficiency using a computer for data entry and basic warehouse system tasks.
- Ability to use FedEx and UPS software to process domestic shipments and generate labels.
- Experience with shipping and receiving processes in a warehouse or logistics environment.
- Hands-on experience with material handling, including palletizing and staging products.
- Ability to perform data entry accurately and maintain organized records.
- Experience operating a sit-down forklift.
- Knowledge of inventory processes, including cycle counts.
- Ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling orders and shipments.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- International shipping experience is a strong plus but not required.
- Experience with SAP or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
- Experience in general labor, packing, or warehouse support roles.
- Familiarity with inventory control and basic logistics terminology.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team that includes shippers, receivers, packers, and other material handlers.
- Willingness to take on additional tasks as customer needs change.

Work Environment

The schedule for the open positions is Sunday through Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The environment includes the use of sit-down forklifts, pallet handling, and computer-based systems such as SAP and shipping software. You should expect a structured setting with defined SOPs, where safety, organization, and adherence to procedures are essential.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.41 - $23.41/hr.
